Lowell Treatment Center, a 41-bed satellite facility of Westwood Lodge, is located in the Solomon Mental Health building near Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, Mass. The hospital offers inpatient hospitalization and partial hospitalization (PHP) for adolescents and adults.

Walden’s Thoreau Center for Inpatient Psychiatric Care is a short-term, 24-bed locked unit that treats females and males – ages 16 and older – with complex mental illnesses, including depression, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, co-morbid disorders and addictive disorders. The center is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with an average length of stay of eight days.

The inpatient program operates 24 hours a day and offers high-quality individualized psychiatric crisis care for youth, ages three through nineteen, of all developmental abilities and diagnostic categories. The focus of treatment involves restoration of safety, targeting high-risk behaviors, and most frequently, reduction of suicidal behaviors.
Accepts: Franciscan Hospital for Children is a participating provider in the Medicare and Medicaid insurance programs, as well as Massachusetts Blue Cross Blue Shield and the majority of HMO and commercial plans. We also work with non-participating insurance plans on a case-by-case basis to ensure that all of our patients’ financial needs are adequately met.
